CrafteD Kitchen Design was developed when Principal Designer and Owner, Melissa Helvey, CKBD (Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer), realized there was a need for her craft. She sought to revolutionize the custom building and remodeling process to provide a superior client experience. Homeowners didn’t know where to start, who to hire, or have had a less than desirable experience with their project. They need a Spokane interior design professional who can guide and assist with material selections, visualizing the design, and create the instruction manual for their project to be built. After a decade of experience and extensive in-depth knowledge of the industry she is an expert in her craft.
At CrafteD Kitchen Design, we strive to provide a luxury experience for homeowners and builders that need an interior designer that specializes in kitchen, baths, or custom homes. We take the pressure off our clients and collaborate to create masterfully CrafteD kitchen and bathroom designs. Melissa Helvey, CKBD
Principal Designer & Owner
Melissa is the only Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer (CKBD) in Spokane and North Idaho. She graduated with her B.S. in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Portland. She is an active member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), and North Idaho Building Contractors Association (NIBCA). She has served in a variety of leadership positions locally and nationally within these associations. She is the winner of NKBA professional of the year, People’s pick, and her projects have won numerous design awards. She is the rock behind CrafteD Kitchen Design and has a deep passion for blending function with aesthetically pleasing interiors. Outside of the studio she is an adventurer at heart and loves to explore the outdoors with her young family and Welsh Terrier King Louie.
Briana Francis
Briana has an AAS degree in Interior Design from Spokane Falls Community College. Briana has entered submissions into both the NKBA Bath and NKBA Kitchen Student Design Competition. Her goal with every project is to create efficient spaces that suit her client’s style. Briana’s fresh perspective gives her the opportunity to create timeless interiors with innovative design techniques in mind. Under the guidance of Melissa, Briana hopes to develop an in-depth knowledge of the field and design skills.
Cailyn Garza
Cailyn is an intern at Crafted Kitchen Design and is transitioning into becoming a Design Assistant. She hopes to attain the knowledge of Interior Design with the guidance of Melissa and the rest of our amazing design team. She is continuing her education with online classes and NKBA events. Cailyn’s goal is to give every client the best experience possible while designing them a beautiful space to call home. Outside of her job, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling to new places.
Ashleigh Ward
Ashleigh achieved her AAS degree in Interior design from Spokane Falls Community College back in 2007. Before working for CrafteD LLC, she has administered in bookkeeping positions for over ten years. Now, working with Melissa Helvey, Ashleigh is excited to put her business skills into the captivating interior design industry. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her two kids and husband, going to their family cabin, and enjoying the outdoors.
